Advanced Techniques in Molecular
Neurobiology
(Cold
Spring Harbor Labs)
This is a hands on laboratory course dedicated to the
molecular biology of the nervous system. It is one of many
summer courses offered at the Cold Spring Harbor labs, and
it brings together scientists of many different backgrounds
and nationalities. Over the course of about 20 days, we
learn, at the bench, to build viruses, amplify RNA from
single cells, analyze mRNA with gene chips, and create
really large BAC transgenes.
All of us in the Molecular Motion Lab taught, laughed, and
learned in the course that often goes from early in the
morning to early in the morning.
But we've retired from the course. Rusty Lansford, Cary
Lai, and James Eberwine now carry on without us.
